Sign using a black or dark blue ink pen within a 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm box on crisp white paper. File size: 10 KB to 20 KB (JPEG format, 200 DPI). Never use capital letters for a full signature.
DigiLocker does not permit manual custom photo uploads. Your DigiLocker profile photo is fetched directly from UIDAI. First update your biometric photo at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra, then log into DigiLocker, go to Profile, and click 'Update your DigiLocker profile to latest Aadhaar data'.
Go to 'Issued Documents' in DigiLocker, find your Aadhaar Card, click the three vertical dots (⋮), and select 'Refresh' to pull the newly updated photograph.
To sync your newly updated Aadhaar photograph to your DigiLocker account:
Visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra to get your fresh photograph captured by UIDAI (costs ₹100).
Visit digilocker.gov.in or open the mobile app using your credentials.
Navigate to Profile settings and select 'Update profile to latest Aadhaar data'.
Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number to complete the sync.
How to fetch and download your digitally verified photo identity documents from DigiLocker:
Sign in at digilocker.gov.in using Aadhaar/mobile number and your 6-digit security PIN.
View all linked digital documents (Aadhaar, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Marksheets).
Click the PDF icon next to the document to download the digitally verified version with the DigiLocker QR seal.
Track the status of your Aadhaar photo update before refreshing DigiLocker:
Go to the official UIDAI portal and click 'Check Enrolment & Update Status'.
Type the 14-digit EID and 14-digit timestamp from your update acknowledgement slip.
Once status shows 'This Aadhaar has been generated / updated', open DigiLocker and refresh your issued Aadhaar.
DigiLocker does not have a manual 'upload photo' feature because it pulls your profile picture directly from the UIDAI Aadhaar database. To update it: 1) Update your photo physically at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (UIDAI). 2) Once updated in Aadhaar, log into DigiLocker. 3) Go to 'Profile' and click 'Update your DigiLocker profile to latest Aadhaar data' (or click 'Refresh' next to Aadhaar in Issued Documents) and verify via Aadhaar OTP.
The standard passport photo specification for Indian government applications (UPSC, SSC, NEET, Passport Seva, Driving Licence) is 35mm x 45mm (3.5cm x 4.5cm). The face must occupy 75%–80% of the frame against a plain white/off-white background, captured within the last 6 months.
For online portals (NTA, SSC, UPSC, IBPS, PAN card), signatures should be drawn on plain white paper using a black ink pen within a 3.5cm x 1.5cm rectangular box, scanned at 200 DPI, saved in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 10 KB and 20 KB.
