Create an account on the official Passport Seva website.
Complete the online application form and upload photograph and signature.
Pay the passport fee online through the portal.
Schedule an appointment at your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
Bring original documents, application receipt, and attend your appointment for verification.
Police will verify your address (may be done before or after passport issuance).
Passport will be delivered to your registered address via Speed Post.
To renew or re-issue your passport (due to expiry, name change, address change, or new pages), you can apply online through the Passport Seva Portal — the same process as a fresh application but selecting "Re-issue of Passport".
Visit passportindia.gov.in and log in to your account.
Under "Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-Issue of Passport", choose Re-issue.
Complete the form, selecting the reason for re-issue (expiry, change in details, etc.).
Pay the fee online and book your appointment at the nearest PSK or POPSK.
Attend the appointment with your old passport, new supporting documents, and printed receipt.
Your new passport will be dispatched via Speed Post after police verification.
