How to use it
- Choose your exam. The pixel and KB limits load automatically. If your exam isn’t listed, pick “Custom size” and type the limits from your notice.
- Add the photo. Upload a photo or use your camera, then drag and zoom to frame it.
- Wait for the green checks. When all three checks turn green, save the JPG.
- Upload it to the form. The saved file is ready for the application portal.
Photo and signature file sizes it uses
KB limits from ExamDetail’s exam presets. Always match them against the notice for your recruitment year.

| UPSC (CSE, CAPF, CDS, NDA, ESE…) | 20–200 KB | 20–100 KB |
| IBPS / SBI / RBI Assistant | 20–50 KB | 10–20 KB |
| NEET UG, JEE Main | 10–200 KB | 10–100 KB |
| CUET (UG/PG) | 10–200 KB | 10–50 KB |
| GATE | 5–600 KB | 3–300 KB |
| CTET | 10–100 KB | 3–30 KB |
| India Post GDS | 30–100 KB | 20–100 KB |
| CA Foundation / Inter / Final | 20–50 KB | 10–20 KB |
Size rules change between recruitment years. Before uploading, confirm the limits in the official notice or information bulletin for your exam.
Good to know
- SSC now captures the photograph live through a webcam or the mySSC app while you fill the form, so for SSC you only need to prepare the signature file.
- If a small image is still under the minimum KB, the tool adds padding inside the JPG so the portal’s lower limit is met without changing the picture.
Exam Photo & Signature Resizer is a free tool by ExamDetail. It is not a government service; acceptance of uploaded files is decided by the exam conducting body.
