Log into your bank's official mobile banking app (YONO SBI, PNB One, Canara ai1, Baroda M-Connect, iMobile, IPPB Mobile) or internet banking. Navigate to 'Accounts > e-Statement / mPassbook' and download the password-protected PDF statement.
Visit any branch (home or non-home branch) equipped with an automated Swayam / SSBP passbook kiosk. Insert your passbook with the barcode facing up. The machine will automatically scan, flip, and print unrecorded transactions.
If your passbook has no barcode or the kiosk is unavailable, visit any branch teller counter. The operator will print transactions using the branch passbook printer.
When all pages are filled, hand over the completed passbook at the counter. The branch will issue a new continuation passbook free of cost.
If using the passbook as Proof of Address for government documents (Passport, Aadhaar), ensure the front page has your photo stamped and cross-signed by the Branch Manager.
To update transaction records in your physical bank passbook:
Visit any branch or 24/7 e-Lobby of your bank that has an automated passbook printing kiosk.
Open your passbook to the last printed blank line and insert it barcode-side into the machine slot.
The kiosk reads your barcode, fetches pending ledger entries from the core server, and prints them sequentially.
If transactions exceed one page, the kiosk ejects the book and prompts you to turn to the next blank page.
Download an official digital bank passbook / account statement in PDF format using official mobile and internet banking:
Launch your bank's authenticated mobile app (e.g., SBI YONO, PNB One, Canara ai1, iMobile, HDFC MobileBanking, IPPB).
Go to 'My Accounts', 'e-Passbook', or 'mPassbook' section.
Choose the date range (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year) and select PDF format.
Save the PDF file. Use your bank's designated password combination (DOB + Mobile / CIF ID) to open and print.

Banks send real-time SMS updates with reference/SR numbers when a passbook or account service request is initiated.
Log into your net banking account and navigate to 'Service Requests > Track Request Status' to view progress.
Visit your account home branch or call the 24/7 bank toll-free customer care number with your Account/SR number.

No. Current accounts are designed for high-volume commercial transactions, so banks do not issue small physical passbooks for current accounts. Instead, banks provide consolidated monthly/weekly electronic PDF statements by email and internet banking. For physical records, banks offer A4 statement binders.
Yes. A scheduled commercial bank passbook containing the account holder's name, photograph, current address, and active transaction entries (within the last 3 months), stamped and signed by the branch official, is an Officially Valid Document (OVD) for Aadhaar, Voter ID, and Passport applications.
Downloaded bank e-statements are password-protected. Standard formats: SBI: 11-digit password (first 4 digits of DOB in DDMM format + '@' + last 4 digits of registered mobile number). PNB: Customer ID (CIF). HDFC: Customer ID. ICICI: First 4 letters of name in lowercase + DOB in DDMM format.
Visit your home branch with your ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN) and submit a written application requesting a duplicate passbook. The bank will cancel the previous passbook barcode and issue a new booklet upon payment of a nominal duplicate fee (₹50–₹150 + GST).
